Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (QA Automation, TypeScript)
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a business-logic QA Automation Specialist to join our Quality Assurance department. In this role, you will expand and maintain the end-to-end test suite for a sophisticated, AI-powered Microsoft Excel add-in across multiple platforms, including macOS, Windows, and web browsers.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a small-company mindset and a strong sense of curiosity. We value professionals who thoroughly explore and understand the product hands-on prior to writing code.
Core responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining integration and end-to-end automated tests based on prepared test cases.
- Collaborating with Product Managers and Developers to identify optimal test coverage.
- Ensuring the prompt delivery of automated tests covering critical functionalities and key issues.
- Reporting bugs with detailed, deterministic steps to reproduce.
- Verifying and validating that resolved issues are successfully fixed.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related quantitative field.
Language: Professional written and spoken English proficiency for effective asynchronous collaboration in a distributed team.
API & Database Testing: Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs, OData services, and databases using tools such as Postman and direct SQL queries.
Modern Tooling & AI: Hands-on experience with Git, bug-tracking systems (Jira), AI-assisted development tools, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), including authoring custom YAML workflows.
Automation Frameworks: Demonstrated experience writing clean, maintainable automated test scripts using Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, or equivalent tools.
Coding Standards: Ability to produce clean, readable code with a focus on simplicity and maintainability.
- ERP/Finance Logic: Experience working in an ERP industry and basic accounting knowledge is a plus.
- Programming Language: Acquainted with at least one programming language.
- Database and Web API testing skills using DBMS queries and REST clients such as Postman.

Terms:- 100% remote environment with flexible working hours. Your schedule should still be reasonably predictable and responsiveness in communications is a must. You should be able to provide at least 3 hours overlap with the EST (Montreal) time zone.
- An hourly arrangement with at least 35 hours / week availability.
- A stable internet connection and videoconferencing capability is required (with camera on).
